Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique that allows us to perform surgeries such as spays, liver biopsy and gastropexy (stomach tacking) via an incision less than 1 inch in length. A fiberoptic scope with camera and instrument channel is used to visualize the organs and perform cauterization, cutting, and biopsy collection. Laparoscopy is superior to routine abdominal surgery since patients recover more quickly and are less painful. We currently offer a single-port ovariectomy procedure, two-port ovariectomy and gastropexy, and single port liver biopsy procedures.
